Why is there a review?

A review is a hearing which gives interested parties an opportunity to put forward their views in writing about the actions of any guardian and/or administrator or any new or relevant information about the adult's circumstances that may affect the appointment.

The Tribunal checks whether the current order is appropriate for the existing situation. If necessary, the Tribunal makes amendments to the original order or gives the guardians and/or administrators advice or directions about how they should carry out their duties.

When there is a complex review, an oral hearing is usually held where anyone with a genuine interest in the matter can put their views forward and have them considered by the Tribunal Members.
