AustLII (the Australasian Legal Information Institute) provides free Internet access to Australasian legal materials and public legal information. The Tribunal uses this website to publish its reasons for decisions. These reasons are de-identified to preserve the privacy of everyone involved in the matter and are published to increase community awareness of the work of the Tribunal and to give guidance to the users of the Tribunal.
Since 2005, the Tribunal has published every set of reasons for decisions written by the Tribunal either at the request of a party or at the direction of the President. For matters from 2000 to 2005 (prior to publication commencing), the Tribunal has selected and published the most notable cases of that period. The Tribunal has prepared a list (by subject category) of cases published on AustLII, selecting those reasons the Tribunal considers best represents the law and procedures of this Tribunal for each particular category. This is published by the Tribunal to assist people who have a special interest in a particular area of the work of the Tribunal. The list is updated regularly.
